Weekly Review 6/4-6/8

It was such a busy week in music. We can't believe there is only 11 1/2 days of school left!

We had two students who were Music Teachers of the day. On Wednesday,  Thomas and Gabriella got to conduct the 3rd Grade String and Recorder Concert, and even got to eat pizza with us. Here is a picture of them enjoying their food. Thomas and Gabriella each got to pick a friend to join them. They also taught each class with us and did a wonderful job!

Our first grade students continued to play on the Orff instruments. Some of our warm up patterns included answering a question using a four beat pattern, but it had to end on C. The students were very creative with that. Students also played the accompaniment to, "Hot Cross Bun" and some even got to learn how to play the melody.

Second grade students also got a second opportunity to play on the Orff instruments. They also learned a fun pizza song and game. The order taker had to sing their questions while the hungry customer had to sing their answers back. Students sang a fermata on the word "order" when the pizza maker made the pizza. The pizza box then had to be passed around to each student until it came back to the hungry customer. The pizza had to be delivered by the time the students sang the song twice. If the pizza was dropped, students had to send the pizza back to the maker. It was so much fun to see how many deliveries each class could make.

A BIG CONGRATULATIONS to our talented 3rd graders for an amazing orchestra and recorder performance! We hope many of you will continue to play a band or strings instrument.

Here are two more performances from our 4th grade students.

Our fifth graders had such much fun playing the Ukuleles this week. It was their last week on these instruments so they got to choose fun songs to play along with. Popular songs included, "Thunder" and "Believer.

Have a wonderful weekend!
